Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Director, Perlmutter Cancer Center Research Administration. In this role, the successful candidate will be reporting to the Executive Director, PCC Administration, the Senior Director, PCC Research Administration is responsible for providing leadership and overall administrative direction to the research administration of the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC), a joint program of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine (NYUSOM) and NYU Langone Hospitals (NYULH), consistent with the strategic direction and decisions made by its Director. The Senior Director serves as the Associate Director of Administration on the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) and will lead the administrative planning and execution of the Perlmutter Cancer Center’s upcoming CCSG competitive renewal. Directs all operational activities of the PCC research programs, including staffing, systems and budgets, philanthropy, management of the non-physician/scientist staff and facilitation of the recruitment of scientific and administrative staff. Fosters effective relationships with departments throughout the NYUGSOM and NYULH, as well as external agencies, the PCC External Scientific Advisory Committee and PCC Board.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Master’s degree in Business, Health Administration or related field with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with progressively increasing responsibility within a peer-reviewed Cancer Center or major academic healthcare institution, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Solid foundation in general management and demonstrated ability to build teams and bridge strategic ideas into operational programs. Demonstrated skill in oversight and operations of clinical trials. Prior strong experience with grants management required, including direct experience with the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant–ideally in a leadership role on a CCSG competitive renewal–and demonstrated senior-level cooperative relationships with NIH/NCI and other granting agencies. Excellent communications skills to interface effectively with diverse internal and external professional groups and committees are essential. Interpersonal comfort and operational success in interactions with Board members, potential donors, physicians, scientists and other colleagues. Ability to work in a complex matrix setting, build consensus, and develop new approaches to problem solving. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $222,017.06 – $290,472.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
