The Indiana University (IU) Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center is the central hub for cancer research and education across Indiana University. It is the state's only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and 1 of only 57 in the nation. The comprehensive designation recognizes the center's excellence in basic, clinical, and population research; outstanding educational activities; and effective community outreach across the state.
A key partner for the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center is Indiana University, and particularly the IU School of Medicine. The IU School of Medicine is the largest medical school in the United States, with 9 regional campuses across the state including the main research, education, and medical center located on the Indianapolis campus where the majority of cancer center members are located. The IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center is organized as a matrix cancer center within IU, with formal organizational linkages to the IU Health (IUH) healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
The IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks a dynamic individual to serve as the Associate Director for Administration. Reporting to the center director, this role plans, directs, and executes administrative duties of the cancer center.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in health services, finance, business, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
5 years of related functional experience with 3 years of management experience in related field required. 10 years of related experience in an academic research setting preferred. Leadership experience within an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, including leadership in CCSG activities a plus.
